| Christmas Eve in Munich |
My 1 year wedding anniversary is in a couple of weeks and when I was reaching into the fridge for some string cheese the other day, this honeymoon picture of me and my "tall catch" after our Christmas Eve dinner in Munich caught my eye. (Yep! I'm wearing a sleeveless dress, showing off my bare legs and sporting some peep toe pumps in the snow - thank you very much! Of course, this was made possible by a couple-few glasses of wine.)
The photo reminded me of how ELATED I was to hit it off with a man who met my height requirements because - let me tell you - between my height rules and my general persnicketyness, it took awhile to find him! If you're tall, prefer a tall man and are up for some online dating, I highly recommend
eHarmony. It was SO easy to weed through the men that didn't fit my "6'3 and above" height cut-off. It would go a little something like this. I'd come home from work,
walk run to my laptop and fire up the
eHarmony account to check for my new matches. The first thing I looked at was the height category, and since most of them were 5'8, 5'10 5'6 etc., I'd just click "close match...close match...close match" and - POOF - just like that I had narrowed my matches down to a few good (tall) men. (And now let's pause for some more honeymoon photo fun)!

Fortunately for Mr. L
3 (I decided that will be my husband's name on here since Mr. LLL or Mr. Long Leggy doesn't sound right), he made it through the
initial height screening (since he's 6'4) and then he made it through
all of my other rigorous screening tests. And fortunately for me, he was pretty much the first guy I communicated with on eHarmony so I didn't have to waste my time with anyone else.
Our first date ended up being 8
hours long and included lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant, a walk around Laguna Beach where we checked out a bunch of
art galleries, dessert and coffee at a restaurant on the beach during sunset,
as well as a drive up Pacific Coast Highway in his fun sports car, a walk around Balboa Island, where I was living at the time and dinner at a Chicago-style pizza place on Balboa Peninsula. It wasn't love at first sight per se, but I guess
you could say we enjoyed each other's company right off the bat since
our first date was probably one of the longest in the history of mankind
(until our second date, which spanned 2 days and included 6 different
events). Almost 2 years after we were matched on eHarmony, we tied the knot and jetted off to Europe for a 2 week winter wonderland honeymoon. There's a WHOLE lot more to our story and perhaps one day I'll submit it to eHarmony and you'll see us on a commercial. Keep an eye out!

I'm currently trying eHarmony. Being a lady of height as well it is great that you can set it to not show anyone under a certain height. It sometimes 'flexes' my matches to show me 5'6" men but they are archived straight away, lol.
Call me heighist but I'm going to look silly with a shorter man.
Also men are heighist with me when at clubs they run the other way as I'm not the ideal lil lady to have on their arm.
That's wonderful! Filtering by height might be a new feature since I was on there 3 years ago because I remember getting matched with men of all heights. I'm also "heightist". I try not to knock something until I've personally tried it and I did try dating a shorter man once and decided it just wasn't for me. I don't look down upon other tall ladies who don't mind dating shorter men...to each her own...but it just wasn't for me!
I hope you have fun with eHarmony!
Love the "Mr. L3" tag!
Glad you approve!
Shoe envy in the first photo! So good to see a fellow tall girl rocking some heels. (I just spent all day searching in vain for a pair that are heels without being WOAH *HEELS*... I failed.) Mr L3 looks rightly pleased with himself there too!
Thanks Emma! Those are my favorite heels at the moment and you can see a better pic at this link on Laura's All the Tall Things blog http://allthetallthings.com/?p=1666. Yes. Mr L3 does look mighty pleased doesn't he? Haha. I laughed when I read your comment.
...Yeah on closer inspection those are definitely Amazing, I'm a regular over at Laura's and I remember lusting after them then too! You've totally inspired me to go ahead and heel up next week instead of stressing about being too tall. Thanks :)
Thanks! Made my day when I read that you feel motivated to wear heels now! I must say - I wore a dress (for the first time in a long time) to work this week with tights and a different pair of heels and I felt like a MILLION bucks. Got a lot of compliments on the outfit too. So I say go for it! =)
These are fantastic photos! What fun!!!
Thanks Liz! I was about to say it was the trip of a lifetime but my husband loves Europe so much (and I share this love now that I've been there) that I know we'll be back there soon. =) Still, it was quite the fun, magical trip. Being there during the holidays was wonderful. One of the highlights (other than the pics I posted here) were the Nuremberg and Salzburg Christmas markets. SO fun!
