Tall Activewear! Elle Mayers Launch

I'm always THRILLED to pieces when I see someone launch a tall line.  Today, Elle Mayers launched its activewear line consisting of a few fabulous tanks and a pair of wonderfully long workout pants.

I love the cut-out details on the front and back of the Serendipity Tank ...

...and I'm really diggin' the fact that the tanks aren't low-cut in the front so you can focus on your workout as opposed to worrying about flashing people.

Hopefully we'll see more from this line!  I'm really excited about it (and am keeping my fingers crossed for some EM golf wear in the near future).  I plan to order one of the tanks soon so stay tuned for a review.

Online shopping and wedding (guest) dress woes

Wedding guest dress woes...trying saying that 5 times fast.  I've been having some bad luck with my online shopping lately, and it's back to the drawing board as far as figuring out what to wear to my friend's wedding. Sometimes I just have to talk things out so lucky you...you get to listen in.  Here's what has happened up to this point.

I ordered this dress from Nordstrom thinking I'd pair it with a cream colored cardi.  Generally speaking, I liked it but my friend Veronica and I decided it probably wasn't wedding-y enough (and it was a smidge short) so back to Nordies it went.  Hooray for the free shipping and returns.
Then this dress from Long Tall Sally arrived on my doorstep today, but alas it was too tight in the hips and poofy in the midsection....the joys of being a size small on the top half and large on the bottom.  Such a shame because the dress is even more pretty in person than it is online and I LOVED the fabric.  I am keeping the black tights I ordered so at least I'm not completed empty-handed.
At this point, I think I'm going to have to go shopping in my own closet.  I've worn this BCBG dress to a couple of weddings but they were more on the formal side so methinks I'd be a smidge overdressed if I wore it to the upcoming wedding.
Then there's my trusty go-to black with white polka dots A.B.S. dress that I've worn to a wedding or 2 (or 8) and other events. I bought it online from Nordstrom years ago which gives me hope that I will strike it lucky with my online shoppage again sometime soon.

I wonder if I could pair my black-ruffly-kind-of-cropped cardigan with this bridesmaid dress?  Hmmm...guess I'll have to try it on and see.

Then there's this dress....O wait.  I guess I can't ever wear this one again.  Sigh!

Orrrrrrrr maybe I will find something the day of my friend's wedding at the Long Tall Sally pop-up shop

Thanks for listening in on my musings. Feel free to vote for your fav option.

Nordstrom Shoe Clearance!

Head on over to Nordstrom for its shoe clearance sale! Filter by size to find your fit or click on the links below.

When I searched, it looks like they have

Tall Tunics and Leggings

Leggings and tunics....how I love thee...let me count the ways.

The main thing I love about leggings is that they still show off the shape of my legs while completely covering them AND they're insanely comfortable. Tunics are also comfy, can also show off some curves (depending on the style) and of course, play the all important purpose of covering my backside.  If I could wear leggings and tunics year found, I'd be one happy camper. Unfortunately that's not possible since I live in the South where it's blazing hot and humid all summer. BUT fall is upon us and I'm getting antsy to bust out my favorite look again which is why I was pleased to wake up to two things today.

1) 65 degree weather, gloom and rain (which was a welcome change after 3 days of 100 degree heat earlier in the week); and

2) an email from Long Tall Sally's fashion editor, Lisa, listing her favorite LTS "cosy knits" (no that's not a typo...cozy is cosy across the pond).

Given the weather, I was definitely in the mood to have a gander at some warmer clothes. I'm hoping this tunic is still available when I lift my self-imposed shopping moratorium in a few weeks.  I LOVE the asymmetrical hem!

Add some jewelry, leggings or jeans and high heels and VOILA you have yourself a fabulous (and comfy) night-out-on-the-town outfit. Or, sport a more laid back version with leggings and flats, boots or sandals.  Is my shopping vacation over yet?!?!?
